Connect a .ng domain to Shopify

Sell on Shopify, on your own .ng address.

Shopify calls this connecting a third-party domain. Three records: an A and an AAAA on the root, and a CNAME on www.

The records

Step by step

1In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Domains → Connect existing domain, and enter your domain.
2In the OneBit panel, open the domain and go to DNS.
3Add the A record and the AAAA record on the root.
4Add the CNAME on www.
5Remove any other A, AAAA or CNAME on those two hosts.
6Back in Shopify, press Verify connection.
7Back in the domain, open DNS check and confirm the resolvers agree with what you just set. That is the difference between "I saved the record" and "the internet can see it".

Then check it worked

Saving a record and the internet seeing a record are two different events. Open the domain in the panel and run the DNS check: it asks twenty public resolvers directly, including ipNX in Nigeria, and shows you which already have the new answer. More on what the check covers.
