Terms of service

Last updated: 9 September 2026

1. Who you are contracting with

This service is operated by Onebit Technology Solutions Limited (RC1919657), a company registered in Nigeria ("OneBit", "we", "us"). These terms govern your use of domain.onebit.ng and the domain registration, transfer, renewal and management services provided through it.

By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the service.

2. What we provide

We register, transfer and renew domain names in the NiRA .ng family — currently .ng, .com.ng, .org.ng, .net.ng and .i.ng — and provide tools to manage them: a DNS record editor, nameserver configuration, and checks against public resolvers.

We are an intermediary between you and the registry. A registration is only effective when the registry accepts it. We do not control the registry, its policies, its timings or its decisions, and we cannot guarantee that a particular name will be available at the moment your order is processed — availability shown before payment is a report of what the registry said at that moment, not a reservation.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, including a contactable email address. Registry and renewal notices go to that address; an address you cannot receive mail at is how a domain gets lost.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity carried out under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.

4. Registry rules

Every .ng domain is subject to the policies of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) as the registry operator, as amended from time to time. Those policies sit above these terms in respect of the domain itself: they govern eligibility, disputes, lifecycle and the circumstances in which a registration may be suspended, transferred or cancelled.

Where the registry requires something of you, or acts on a domain, we will pass that on and help where we can, but we cannot override it.

5. Prices, payment and VAT

Prices are shown in Nigerian naira and are exclusive of value added tax. Nigerian VAT at 7.5% is calculated on the price and added to your total at checkout.

Payments are processed by Paystack. We do not store your card details.

Prices may change. The price that applies to an order is the price shown at checkout for that order. A price shown elsewhere on the site is read from our billing system at the time the page is loaded and is not a binding quote for a future order.

6. Renewal and expiry

Domains are registered for a fixed term. It is your responsibility to renew before expiry. We will make renewal notices and the renewal price available to you, but a domain that is not renewed will expire.

On expiry a domain stops resolving, which means any website or email on it stops working. What can be done after expiry is determined by the registry's lifecycle policy, and may cease to be possible entirely once the domain is released.

7. Transfers

Transferring a domain to or from us requires the authorisation code issued by the registrar currently holding it, and is subject to registry rules, including any period during which a transfer is not permitted. Transfer timings are set by the registry and are outside our control.

8. Refunds

A domain registration is generally not reversible: once the registry has accepted it, the fee has been incurred and the name is yours for the term. We cannot refund a registration because you changed your mind about the name.

Where we have charged you for something that was not delivered — a payment taken for a registration the registry did not complete, or a duplicate charge — contact us at [email protected] and we will put it right.

9. Acceptable use

You may not use a domain registered through us for unlawful activity, for fraud or impersonation, for distributing malware, or in a way that infringes another party's rights. We may suspend a domain or an account where we are required to by law or by the registry, or where we have reasonable grounds to believe this clause has been breached.

10. Availability of the service

We aim to keep the panel and its tools available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party failures and registry downtime happen. The resolution of a domain that is correctly configured does not depend on this panel being up.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the domain in question in the twelve months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost business or loss of data, however arising. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date shown at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
