Connect a .ng domain to Wix

Wix calls this the pointing method. Two records, and both are required.

Wix offers two routes: move the nameservers to Wix, or keep DNS here and point with records. This page covers pointing, which keeps your mail and verification records where they are.

Wix is explicit that both records are needed — adding only one leaves the site showing security warnings to visitors.

Step by step

1In your Wix account, open Domains and choose to connect a domain you already own, then choose the pointing method.
2In the OneBit panel, open the domain and go to DNS.
3Add the A record on the root.
4Add the CNAME on www.
5Delete any old A or CNAME on those hosts.
6Back in the domain, open DNS check and confirm the resolvers agree with what you just set. That is the difference between "I saved the record" and "the internet can see it".

Worth knowing before you start

Wix warns that adding only one of the two records leaves the site appearing unsecure to visitors. Add both.

Then check it worked

Saving a record and the internet seeing a record are two different events. Open the domain in the panel and run the DNS check: it asks twenty public resolvers directly, including ipNX in Nigeria, and shows you which already have the new answer. More on what the check covers.
