.com.ng is the busiest part of the .ng namespace. That has two consequences worth knowing before you search: recognition is high, so nobody has to be told what it is, and the good short names went years ago.
It is a third-level domain — the name sits under com, which sits under ng. Functionally it behaves exactly like any other domain: the same DNS records, the same email, the same certificates. Nothing about a third-level name limits what you can build on it.

- Is .com.ng the same as .com?
- No. They are different domains with different registries. .com is global and sold by hundreds of registrars; .com.ng is inside Nigeria’s country-code namespace and is administered by NiRA. Registering one does not give you the other.
- Does a third-level domain look less professional?
- Not in Nigeria, where .com.ng is the most common business address in the namespace. Outside Nigeria it reads as explicitly Nigerian, which is the point if your customers are here.
- Can I use it for email?
